Nuclear Energy - Our Salvation or a Mirage?
I read an article today from my most trusted green tech media source. It was about a small modular reactor (SMR)startup that just received some funding. Near the end of that article it mentioned that they had reported on varied next generation nuclear technologies including thorium fuel cells, other SMR and fusion. There was no editorial comment by GTM but my take was that they are skeptical of nuclear as a solution to our energy and climate change challenge. It reminded me of funny I was told by an energy and climate change presenter recently. “You know what they say about next generation nuclear power, it is always 20 years away.”
Here is a 2013 article from GTM about thorium worth a read. That last sentence perfectly captures our position at SOLARMAX Power, “In 25 years, (there will likely be) a whole range of cost-effective ways to keep the lights on that evolve from the current set of technologies.”
Our bet is on solar energy. As Thomas Edison famously quipped, “I’d put my money on the sun and solar energy. What a source of power!”
Noticeable change takes time and we are going to focus all of our energy, resources and time toward accelerating the transition to a solar powered world. Join us!
